Child Safety Policy

• Every child has the right to learn in an environment that is safe, respectful and free from harm.
• Any concern about a child's safety is taken seriously and acted on promptly.
• This policy applies to all trainers, staff and contractors who work with students, and is shared with parents at enrolment.

Before teaching, every trainer:

• Has their identity verified
• Completes an interview and a teaching demonstration
• Reads and agrees to this policy and our trainer code of conduct

• Classes take place only at the scheduled time, through the class link we provide on an established video platform.
• Parents are welcome to be present or nearby during any class, and we encourage it for younger students.
• We recommend the student joins from a shared family space, not a bedroom, with the door open.
• Trainers join from a quiet, appropriate setting, and are on camera and professionally dressed.
• Screen sharing is used only for class content.

• All communication about classes goes through the parent, using our official email and business WhatsApp channels.
• Trainers must not contact students privately, including by personal phone, social media, gaming platforms or messaging apps, and must not accept friend or follow requests from students.
• Trainers must never ask a student for personal information, photos or passwords, or ask them to keep anything secret from their parents.
• Trainers must not arrange to meet a student in person.

Classes are not recorded unless the parent has agreed. Where a class is recorded (for example, so a parent can review it), the recording is used only for learning, quality and safeguarding, stored securely, not shared publicly, and deleted after a limited period. Students, parents and trainers must not record classes without everyone's consent.

We never publish a student's photo, video, full name, school or location. Student projects are showcased only with the parent's separate written consent, using first name and grade only. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and we will remove the content.

Our classes include age-appropriate teaching on staying safe online: protecting personal information, strong passwords, respectful behaviour, and telling a trusted adult when something feels wrong.

• Students should behave respectfully, use appropriate language and join from a suitable space.
• Parents should supervise their child's device and internet use, and tell us about anything that affects their child's safety or learning.
• Parents and students should not share class links with others.

If you are worried about a child's safety or a trainer's behaviour, contact our Safeguarding team at hello@codingchamp.in or on our WhatsApp number, marking the message "Safeguarding". You can also tell any member of our team. When we receive a concern, we will:

• Acknowledge it within 24 hours
• Suspend the trainer from classes while we look into it, where appropriate
• Keep the parent informed, while respecting confidentiality
• Report to the police or child protection authorities where the law requires it, including under India's Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and cooperate fully

If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. In India, call 112, or the national child helpline on 1098.

We review this policy at least once a year, and whenever the law or our services change.
