Who it's for
Is Robotics with Arduino right for your child?
- Students in Class 6 to 12
- Kids who like building, electronics and engineering
- Students who have done some Scratch, micro:bit or Python
Before starting: Some coding experience helps. An Arduino starter kit is needed after the first few simulator classes.
A hands-on robotics course built on Arduino, the platform used by makers and engineers worldwide. Students wire circuits, read sensors, drive motors and program robots in C++, moving from blinking LEDs to obstacle-avoiding and line-following robots and smart-home style projects.
What you'll need
- A laptop or desktop with a stable internet connection
- An Arduino starter kit (board, breadboard, sensors, motors), bought separately
- Early classes can use the free Tinkercad Circuits simulator
Computational concepts covered
- Sequence
- Loops
- Events
- Conditionals
- Parallelism (not covered)
- Operators
- Data
Concepts from the Creative Computing framework (Harvard Graduate School of Education).
